1. UP Pep Squad Made It! My warmest congratulations go to UP Pep Squad for winning the 2008 Samsung-UAAP Cheerdance Competition at the Araneta Coliseum yesterday. They beat UST's Salinggawi Dance Troupe and received P195,000 and a trophy. The victory is well-deserved.
2. Malacañang Releases P2.6 B Worth of Pork Barrel. Happy days are here for the legislative branch of our government. This is huge money that is supposed to finance development projects. I hope (and pray) that I see results in the provinces.
3. Cars of the Future. Car enthusiast or not, you have to see this new cars unveiled at the recent 2nd Philippine International Motor Show. I was left in awe and just heard myself saying "Money...I need you to buy my dream car!"
4. Regine Velasquez and Lani Misalucha's Ultimate Face-off Happens This September. They both have amazing vocal prowess. But only one has to reign. Velasquez and Misalucha have agreed to do a concert entitled "The Main Event" to settle the alleged professional rivalry between them. Unfortunately, the venue is abroad. I wonder who will get the louder applause, though.
5. Happy Birthday Blessed Virgin! Today, Mama Mary has reached another milestone. I am Protestant but I am one with the entire Catholic community in this celebration. Here in the Philippines, fiestas are held at this time in some provinces.
6. And Yet Another Birthday...It's Google! Everyone's favorite search engine turned 10 yesterday. 100% Batangueño provides a short history of the company over at his site.
P.S. After ten years, I was able to come up with the second batch for this little project of mine that shares links to current events/updates, among others. I hope to regain my enthusiasm in the coming days. For now, please bear with me. :)
