The Burger Joint: One of Cebu’s Best Foodie Finds
By edelweiz on 25th September, 2008

There was this burger place that I had read from a magazine before. During my recent trip to Cebu, I invited Edwin to have brunch there one chilly morning, just the two of us. The name of the burger place is The Burger Joint. According to writer and traveler Troy Bernardo, who’s also a Cebuano and whom I met at LCDTM a few weeks ago, it is one of Cebu’s best kept secrets. I can’t agree more. Personally, I think The Burger Joint is one of Cebu’s best foodie finds. Read on after the jump to find out why.
The place is small, with only six tables dedicated to diners. Dining is al fresco. I bet it could get dusty sometimes because it stands by the road, but anyway, you will be there for the food and not for the ambiance.
Primarily, the Burger Joint serves juicy and beefy burgers made from a secret recipe. They also offer sandwiches, milk and fruit shakes, rice meals and desserts. Here, combo meals (burger+soft drink+fries) start at P79 ($1.71). You are to choose your sidings. You can have either french fries, potato crisps or onion rings.

I ordered the Bacon and Mushroom Cheese Burger combo and a strawberry shake. I chose onion rings, my favorite. I even got a rice meal for no apparent reason. (I must had been very hungry that time). I felt so stuffed after.

Edwin chose the Hot and Spicy Cheese Burger combo and a chocolate shake. French fries for him. He also ate some of my onion rings and the potato crisps that came with my rice meal. He wasn’t able to finish his burger because of that. Lol.
Edwin said he liked his burger, too.
If you’re a fan of burgers and don’t want to pay much on your meal, the Burger Joint is for you. Here, everything tastes good and is within the budget. The staff is friendly and efficient, too.

I loved the burger I ate. It was big and full. The beef patty was juicy, tender and tasty. The bun was soft and chewy and had just the right crumbs. At P145 ($3.15), I think it was reasonable.
