people are people

I was at Robinson Place-Ermita the other night with Edwin. We were asked to get some medical forms for his sick aunt (who will be staying in Bohol for good) at Cebu Pacific's ticketing office located inside the mall. When we were done, we stopped by Dairy Queen for some blizzards and spent some hours perusing through shops. One of them was People are People.

That night, I bought two items from the boutique. I consider them as little rewards that you should give yourself occasionally. These fab items made my heart jumped for joy, literally. (Yes, I am shallow like that.) I really like them so much I slept that night thinking about the possible occasions I could wear or use them. Lol.

One is a tote bag that made me thrilled the moment I spotted it. I think it's the only piece of its kind left when I saw it sitting on the shelf. I grabbed it immediately. That time, I intentionally forgot that I had just been gifted with a new bag by Edwin on our 4th Anniversary. I just couldn't let the opportunity pass. It used to be P699 but I got it for only P199. Isn't it a beauty?

The other one is a pair of snicker-ish, yellow flat shoes. I have seen it before at two People are People branches (Gateway Mall and SM City Cebu) but did not get around to buying it. The reason? I find it too expensive at P899. But when I checked out People are People-Robinsons Place that night, it was on sale at P499!

I have long wanted to get myself a pair of yellow shoes. I dunno but there is something in yellow that brightens up my mood. I don't care if it's high-heeled or flat, so long as it fits my feet well. When I spotted the shoes again (after seeing it at People are People Gateway Mall and SM City Cebu), I told msyelf I'm getting it. So, I looked for the sales girl and asked for a size 7. When she returned, I hastily tried the shoes on and the rest is history. Seriously, don't you just love them?

I don't know a lot about People are People. Actually, it was Albie who introduced it to me. I remember my first purchase was a top. Then a dress. Then a pair of shades. And so on. I liked the shop so much I made it a point to drop by its stores in select malls whenever I'm out malling with friends. What I particularly admire about the shop is that it lower its prices fast. The secret here is don't buy the item outright. Wait for some months and I assure you, when you come back to the store the price of that item has already went down. I think it's a smart strategy since the faster you sell those items, the better. The selling process is a cycle, if you know what I mean. Low price = Big profit.

I think I'm starting to love People are People. The name of the shop itself is a statement of boldness, individuality and modernity. It has cool and forward-looking attitude which I think are what set it apart from other shops in the Metro. It certainly is a haven for people wanting not just to look good but also to feel good.

People are People sells trendy clothes, apparels, accessories and other stuff for young people. It carries different brands (mostly sourced from the States) and I noticed that most of their items are unique, you simply cannot find it else where. I dunno but I have a feeling this shop will stay for long. If that happens, I'd be very happy.

One thing that needs improvement though about the shop is the service. Two of the stores I visited had quite snobbish staff (or are they just busy arranging and checking stocks?) and didn't go the extra mile to assist the clients (me included). I hope the management makes sure each client is treated as guest. We'll surely appreciate it.

I was in Robinson's Malate. Haha! Cool. I know that's not the one you were in but you listed it. Haha! Shopping. I need to do a little shopping for myself. That'd help lift my spirits. Of course, nothing too extravagant, I'm penny pinching for the rest of the year.

Love ya sister!

Don't ask my why, but for some reason the delight you express for pretty things reminded me of this song, from South Pacific:
