I didn't plan for it at all. Initially, it was Adel who really wanted a Sun Cellular Plan. Edwin, Adel and I have been Sun Cellular subcribers since 2006 through Sun Cellullar's Group Plan 699. that's P233 per head. It has a 2-year locked-in period and will expire this October 6th. We could renew our subcription to ensure continued service or switch to prepaid.
When we got to Sun Shop, I remembered the 'subscription expiry' thing and decided to avail of Sun Cellular's Plan 350. Originally, my budget for my old Sun was P300. With Plan 350 (my new Sun), all I have to do is add P50. I guess it won't hurt my finances that much.
The Sun Cellular Plan 350 package includes unlimited Sun-to-Sun call and text, 250 free texts to other networks per month and of course, the free handset (presently Sony Ericsson T280i). It has a locked-in period of two and a half years (30 months). Aside from Sony Ericsson t280i, other free handsets include Nokia 2630, Nokia 2600, Motorola W218 and Samsung SGH-X510.
Sony Ericsson T280i was officially launched in January 2008. It is selling at around P4,000 per unit. It is available in two colors: copper and black. It is actually one of the cheap, low-end phones in the market today. It does not have high-tech features that are brag worthy. But then, it is very ideal as a second phone.

For one, it has all the basic features to keep me connected with family and friends. It has MMS, GPRS (for web browsing) FM radio, bluetooth and Java support (for games) to meet my immediate digital demands. It also has a 1.3 megapixel integrated camera, good enough to take photos outdoors where lighting is abundant or as a substitute if ever I forget to bring my camera phone with me.

Below are some of the photos I have taken using the phone:

The good thing about this little gadget is that it's not heavy on the pocket. I bet you won't cry buckets in case you lose it. Aside from that, it is also very light. It's smaller in length than Nokia 6300 but the thickness of the two are almost the same. I find it sleek and sexy. Mine is black and it looks good with my primary phone, a Sony Ericsson P990i.
