Malacañang Suspends Work in Government Offices Due to Typhoon Isang

After assessing the situation, Malacañang, through Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, eventually decided to suspend work in government offices in Metro Manila due to tropical storm Isang. The announcement came this morning, already past 8:00 a.m. when most workers were already got to their respective offices. Well, it’s better late than never.
“We are suspending work in view of the flooding and continuous rain, and in view of the recommendation of the Office of Civil Defense and the National Disaster Coordinating Council,” Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said in a phone interview.Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita issued the order at past 8 a.m., he said.
Apart from Metro Manila, Malacañang also suspended work in government offices in provinces under Signal No. 1 and 2, as well as in provinces experiencing heavy rains, Remonde said.”
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) also suspended classes in all levels in Metro Manila and in other affected provinces at an earlier time this morning.
