New Dishes at Super Bowl of China, 7-Eleven’s 1st Big Bite Hotdog Challenge, DSLR Problems, Ukay Shopping, Etc.
I’m glad to have attended two exciting food events last week. One is the launch of Super Bowl of China’s four super new dishes (new menu starting July 1!) and the other being 7-Eleven’s 1st Big Bite Hotdog Eating Challenge.
Super Bowl of China never fails to make people go crazy over their modern Asian cuisine. They even produced their own foodie mascots (Super Happi and Super Lucky) to entertain diners. Catch them at selected Super Bowl of China branches in the metro.
7-Eleven (probably Pinoy’s most favorite convenience store!), on the other hand, remains innovative in marketing their products and services. Their latest marketing gimmick, the 1st Big Bite Hotdog Eating Challenge, dares Pinoys to unleash their eating prowess through a sport called competitive eating. Here, the fastest eater emerges as the winner.
Flinch, our Canon 1000D, is having problems with its lens. According to the pro photographer I met during the 7-Eleven launch, it could be the lens’ autofocus feature or the connection between the camera and the lens that’s making it impossible to click the shutter. I hope Flinch heals soon. We plan to bring it to the Canon Service Center at Mall of Asia this week for check up and a possible free repair. Good thing our poor DSLR is still under warranty.
There’s this new ukay-ukay store (thrift shop) located a few steps away from my place which I’ve been frequenting since the day it opened. So far, I’ve already purchased three lovely dresses and an evening top from them at incredibly low prices. I plan to make a review of the store soon and display my small ukay-ukay collection on my budget shopping blog. Watch out for that.
I love ukay-ukay clothing. I’m not a big fan of ukay-ukay shoes and accessories, though. I tried buying ukay-ukay items online but it’s nothing compare to the real thing of buying ukay-ukay from the store itself. You can haggle with the salesperson and choose and compare stuff to your heart’s content.
