Toblerone and the 2009 National Thank You Day Celebration

Last night, Kraft Foods (the makers of Toblerone) and Geiser Maclang gave bloggers a sort of thank you party at Fiamma Bar on Jupiter St., Makati. It was a sneak peak of the National Thank You Day celebration slated on October 20, 2009 sponsored by Toblerone itself. Actually, October 20 is being pushed as an official holiday (National Thank You Day) in the Philippines following a Reader’s Digest survey showing the Philippines as among “the least courteous nations in the world.” Ouch.

I strongly believe Pinoys are a grateful people. Let’s start saying thank you now and show the world that we care about our reputation as a nation. Support this cause by visiting www.thankyoudayphilippines.com. There’s so much to see and do there, all in the name of gratitude (thank you).

The party at Fiamma also saw the launch of the 2009 Thank You Awards. Who do you think should the Philippines thank? It could be a person or a group and the criteria could be their positive impact to the lives of Pinoys or their contribution in no small way to the development of our society. Everyone can nominate. It’s our personal choice. The registry and nomination is done at the site I mentioned above.

The bloggers left the venue with boxes of Toblerone chocolates and Rina Albert thank you cards. Indeed, it’s always great to say thanks with a box of sweets. Toblerone is pure love. Thanks to the organizers! :)
