Lucky are those that have naturally beautiful skin. They don’t have to apply all sorts of creams on their faces nor get expensive facial treatments for correcting skin impurities. I am glad my face is on the neutral side. It may not be free from impurities but it sure is not prone to breakouts and other facial skin problems such as acne, severe rashes and unusual growths.

My younger sister’s case is another story. For some reason, she has oily skin which is prone to pimples, acne and the likes. Actually, her face used to be acne-infested when she was still in high school. Back then, she thought it was partly due to puberty. I’d have to agree with her on that. She must have had hyperactive oil glands back then that was responsible for the acne.

Now that she’s in college, the acne on her face has decreased in number. I did not hesitate to send her to the derma for some acne treatment even if it would cost a few thousands. I was not only concerned about her physical look but also on how her skin problem could affect her self-esteem. Who would want an acne-infested face, anyway? It’s not ideal, especially for a freshman student like her who was about to meet and interact with new people at the university.

Acne treatments come in sets and are usually in the form of cleansers, gels or capsules. When getting an acne treatment, choose one that’s good for all skin types. It’s also important that it works inside and out and soothes the skin instead of drying it out. This way, you’d be sure to get rid of acne permanently.
