Blackberry Phones in the Philippines

Everyone’s been bugging me to buy a new phone. By “everyone,” I mean my boyfriend, his sister and my two siblings.The phone I’m currently using, a Sony Ericsson P990i, is now three years old and they think it’s about time I upgrade to a new phone. However, except for its battery that’s already showing signs of old age, it’s still in good working condition.
Edwin is suggesting that I get a Nokia E63 or a Blackberry 8520 (see photo above). Just a while ago, we were watching a video on Youtube comparing various Blackberry phones. One of them was the 8520. I was quite impressed with the phone’s features. It’s quite cheap, too. A unit is priced at around P14,000. But then I realized, if ever I’d buy a Blackberry phone, I’d have to subscribe to Globe’s P700 plan for the exclusive Blackberry services (calls, email, chat, etc.). If I’m not mistaken, Globe is the only telecom network here in Manila that offers that. I find it’s offer a bit pricey, though. So yeah, I’m a bit confused now. But I’m not pressuring myself. After all, I still love my current phone.
