Late President Cory Aquino is Toblerone’s First National Thank You Day Awardee
Late President Corazon “Cory” C. Aquino was named recently as the First National Thank You Day Awardee. The award was accepted by her daughter Vel Aquino-Dee. The 2009 National Thank You Awards, which was held last Friday (November 20) at the Music Hall, Mall of Asia, was organized and presented by Kraft Foods through its brand Toblerone.
Other nominees for the awards were critically-acclaimed designer Monique Lhuillier, King of Comedy Dolphy, Miss Saigon Lea Salonga, Cannes Festival Best Director Brillante Mendoza, King of Rap Francis Magalona and CNN Hero Efren PeƱaflorida. The National Thank You Day Award is given to Filipinos who have made a significant contribution to Philippine society.
The brief program at MOA’s Music Hall also awarded the winners to Toblerone‘s Spread the Sweetness of Gratitude Photo Competition. It was followed by several live band performances opened to the public.
