Most government workers, if not all, receive their salary weekly. This setup has advantages and disadvantages. Yes, we get our money in smaller portions and that lessens the urge to overspend. But then, it also means we have to make sure our weekly budget is followed, that we have to allot money for various expenses (i.e. food, rent, mortgage, insurance, medicines, etc.). Otherwise, we would end up not being able to pay our bills.
As for me, what I do is I keep a weekly budget to suit the frequency of my salary. I also maintain a monthly budget to monitor where my money goes, that is, to check if my weekly budget is followed accordingly and that slowly but surely, I am allotting money for the various expenses that needed to be paid. This system has been quite effective to me. The problem arises when I have overspent and forgotten about savings and suddenly, an emergency would present itself and I don’t have cash at hand.
Whenever I need fast cash, I apply for cash advance loans. As much as possible, I don’t borrow from friends. It’s not because I don’t trust them nor they add interest to the money they lend to me. It’s just that I don’t want to add to their burdens. At least with lending companies, they always have money available to borrowers for lending. It’s a business and they treat you as a valued client. You pay interest alright but at least your problem is solved in no time. You just have to choose the lending company you are dealing with. Make sure they offer the lowest interest rates and they have good customer service.
